International Woodwind competition "Young musician"

Jelgava Music Secondary School Supporting Association in cooperation with Jelgava Music Secondary School, is organizing the International Woodwind Competition "Young Musician", which will take place from May 5 to 9, 2026, at Jelgava Music Secondary School.

The aim of the competition is to develop and enhance young musicians' instrumental performance skills and abilities, to foster their professional growth, as well as to promote the traditions of woodwind playing and works by Latvian composers worldwide.

This competition is a new project that unites the traditions of all woodwind instruments, incorporating the K. Štrāls International Competition "Young Flautist" and the Ed. Mednis International Competition "Young Musician."
